Christmas Week 2008

January 2, 2009

This year the girls didn’t have school the week of Christmas, so we went to the zoo, the gigantic Christmas Tree in Delray Beach, The Nutcracker, Christmas Eve Childrens mass, and the circus.

Skylar’s Birthday

January 2, 2009

This year Skylar’s birthday party was a fashion show at our house.  Lynn, Kelly, and Illiana did the hair, makeup, and nails.  The girls dressed up & strutted their stuff on the catwalk.

Thanksgiving 2008

January 2, 2009

Every Thanksgiving Morning Skylar and I race for Apple Pies—there’s not a whole lot that will make me run faster than an apple pie.  The top 700 out of 1200 received pies this year—4miles & then one less thing I have to bake for Thanksgiving dinner!

Here is a picture of Sky & Ella painting their nails while I was cooking, and Skylar & Connor relaxing on the swing after dinner.

November 9th, we took the boat to the Waterway Cafe & had lunch & met a bunch of guys that have the same type boat as Dave.  It was a beautiful day & the girls love being on the water.  Towards the end of the day it started getting cold & here are the girls in the cuddy.

New Kids on the Block Rock

November 23, 2008

This year I was lucky enough to go the NKOTB concert twice.  The first time I flew to Michigan to go with Jaci, Wendy, Tara, Thel & Kimmer, we had the best time.dsc01756dsc01774   Here we are in front of the minivan–which we later ditch for the limo.  Which we later switch for a cab — which was “BULLSHIT” as Tara so politely exclaimed as she slammed the door shut!

dsc01791dsc01792Thel & I scooched up a little closer & ignited our flames with the Knight Brothers, as Jordan sang to Thel–and Thel only!–definate eye contdsc01817act–I was witness!

Here they are sharing a water, awwwwww………

So I fly back to Florida on Monday, Thursday I log onto the company’s United Way fundraiser & see 4 NKOTB suite tickets for that Saturday night—I was all over it & D. Ladd, SKy & Ella were so happy to go with me again that weekend—NOT!!  Here are the happy campers!  The New Kids were worth it, and I enjoyed seeing the concert completely sober–although I found it better after a bottle of captain.  I called Thel & held up my cell phone so she could hear them again, unfortunately, she was in the middle of some touch ups on her hair color–sorry bout that carrot top!–all in the name of the New Kids!

We’ll be loving you forever New Kids!

Halloween2008

November 23, 2008

Every year, the girls plan their costume, we even go to Sears or Wal-mart & get their pictures taken in their “planned” costumes, and every year they come home from school, pull out a totally different costume & away we go.  This year was no different…. Skylar was supposed to be a witch & Ella Little Mermaid.  Ella did stay Ariel, but Skylar turned into a Hula Girl instead–using the same costume we used when she was 2.  Here are some pictures from the girls at the pumpkin patch & with their trick or treating costumes on Halloween night.dsc018951dsc01896dsc01933dsc01927

At Skylar’s school they have a halloween parade & decorate pumpkins, here is Skylar walking in the parade & the pumpkin we decorated with her classmates.

At Ella’s party I was the face painter–definately not a career move for me!  That’s supposed to be a ladybug on her forehead & a spider on her nose—luckily she peeled it off minutes later.

Skylar’s Triathlon

November 23, 2008

This October Skylar did her first triathlon.  She wanted to do it last year, but stupid me thought I could sign her up the day before—little did I  know there were already 100 kids on the waiting list by then…. so we just watched.  This year I signed her up in July, so she was definately in!  When we watched last year I swear the little kids only ran 50yards—-well this year is was a quarter of a mile—we weren’t ready for that one.  She had been on the swim team all summer, so one lap in the pool was no problem.  She had to ride Ella’s bike because we had already taken the training wheels off hers, but she isn’t comfortable enough to ride it without trainers in a race.  So Ella’s was a little smaller, & that looked kind of funny because Skylar didn’t seem to be in any hurry, just pedaling around–I thought she might have gotten lost—then the run they had her on this winding trail in the woods & I thought for sure she got lost, finally she came around the corner & when she saw me the look on her face was like “what the hell is this?”  Luckily her friends & Grandma Dots & Lyle were waiting for her at the finish line & when she heard them cheering she smiled.  Here are some pictures from her after the race, but on this link below GARDENS KID TRI–She is #29–you can see her in action!
